An official meeting devoted to the Franco-Russian Year of Language and Literature was held in the terms of the XXII interregional scientific conference with international participation “Administration: History, Science and Culture”.
Our students from Canada David Belanger and Valerie Bessette were invited to take part in the event as special guests along with other PetrSU lecturers Nadezhda Leushina and Maria Shemanaeva, a student from Algeria Fetkhi Trody and a member from the Foundation CODESPA in Morocco Adnan Laakel.
France is a country with rich literary tradition. French literature takes a central position in the intellectual and artistic development of the whole Europe. The participants prepared presentations about life and work of Voltaire, Honore de Balzac, Alexandre Dumas, Victor Hugo, Prosper Mérimée, Guy de Maupassant and other prominent French figures.
According to special guests the event was dynamic, information-intensive and aesthetically colorful. Young participants had an opportunity to learn more about classic and modern French literature, fully realize the importance of studying the foreign languages and benefit from reading.
