The first summer weeks were not really warm and sunny in Petrozavodsk, but in spite of that our annual Summer University works! Students from Canada, Switzerland, Germany, England, Slovakia, South Korea are opened for different kinds of class and out-of-class activities.
They are equally ready during the lessons to carry out grammar tasks and to learn Russian songs, to participate in discussions and to read articles from Russian papers.
And after the lessons they visit a lot of interesting places: Kizhi, Kivach, and even Murmansk, which is nearly 20 hours by train to the North. They are not aside of cultural actions such as open air regional rock festival, ethnic festival, folk group concert, new museum exhibitions.
Visiting the Museum of Local History, for example, our students saw a wonderful presentation of Finnish and Karelian old musical instruments performed by Petrozavodsk musician Arto Rinne and his daughter, and also had a short conversation with the Director Mikhail Goldenberg, who always is glad to meet our students at the museum.
