Celebrating Catholic Easter

While in Russia the Easter Week is just beginning, Catholic Easter was celebrated last Sunday. PetrSU, together with the National Cultural Polish Autonomy of Karelia “Karelian Polonia”, organized an event devoted to Easter. Visiting teacher of the Polish language Karolina Pyka introduced everyone interested to the traditions and the history of celebrating this bright holiday in Poland.
First Karolina gave a short lecture in Polish with interpretation into the Russian language. After the lecture everyone could try to paint or decorate an Easter egg using various materials: paints, egg white, paper, thread, glue, applications. All the participants of the workshop could take their articles with them to decorate their Easter table.
This week all our foreign students will learn about orthodox Easter traditions. After all, our Easter is celebrated this Sunday!
