That was a great Christmas Eve when the international and the Russian students and the staff of PetrSU gathered to celebrate upcoming Christmas in a friendly and warm atmosphere! Thanks to Anna’s from Belgium organizational efforts, the event went really well!
While the holiday songs traditional to different countries were playing, the guests of the Eve tasted meals and sweets that represented cuisine of Belgium and Czech Republic. A real Christmas tree and nice small decorations created a festive mood.
Each of the international students shared with others traditions of celebrating Christmas in their countries and families. Thus, Klaudia from Slovakia told that they cut an apple into pieces and each member of the family eats one piece, which demonstrates the unity of the family.
But all traditions have one thing in common – Christmas is a family holiday when all members, the smallest and the eldest, gather together to see each other, to celebrate the birth of Christ and to thank each other for the best moments of the previous year and for being together!
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with your family and friends!
