On Friday, July 11, 25 foreign students from Great Britain, Spain, Turkey, Greece, USA, China, and Finland gathered together to celebrate the Festival of Russian Culture. This traditional event is held annually by the teachers of Russian language in PetrSU.
The Festival started with a tea made in samovar and everyone could try Russian cakes “vatrushka” with a farmer cheese. The teachers have been wearing the kokoshnik – traditional Russian head-dresses to create an atmosphere of Russian culture.
The foreign students performed as actors in Russian fairy tales that they had been preparing in the Russian language. The festival continued in a courtyard where the participants played the thread-needle – a popular Russian game.
In everyone’s opinion the Festival of Russian Culture was a real success!
