The Year of Culture: the Chronicle of the Foreign Students Studies

The Year of Culture: the Chronicle of the Foreign Students’ Studies
The courses on the topic “Culture” were given in the framework of the educational program for the international students studying the Russian language at PetrSU.
In class, the students from Sweden, Norway, Finland, England, France and South Korea were arduously working on the topical words, enriching their vocabulary. Moreover, young people read articles, independently prepared presentations and reports, for example, about the writers, architectural monuments of different countries, watched film clips, wrote essays and fulfilled plenty of various class assignments.
By way of practical training, the foreign students visited the backstage of the Musical Theatre where while walking around various premises and interacting with the workers, they have seen the life of the theatre in preparation for the first show.
Last Wednesday the students were awaited at the Musical College. There they learned what and how the young people who had chosen music as their career study. Our students were told about the subjects, contests, and were shown various musical instruments. Several pieces for the classic guitar, dombra and violin were performed to them.
Needless to say that such cultural studies in and outside the classroom give students not only the opportunity to master their knowledge of the Russian language and speech skills but also new unforgettable experience.
