The national cuisine party

This Thursday , February 13, Petrozavodsk State University invited international students and volunteers to a traditional national cuisine party “Traditional dishes of your country”. The organizers decided to introduce the students to the Russian traditional food and to present traditional meals of the representatives of other countries in order to plunge into the atmosphere of a foreign country and to feel a taste of the different cultures.
The students came from all over the world: Finland, Norway, Sweden, South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, Greece and Canada to study the Russian language and to attend lectures at PetrSU faculties.
Our students brought homemade baking, sweets, cakes and even cheese and told a little story about every dish and its recipe. The Russian students prepared “kalitki” – the most famous Karelian food, “pirojki” and “holodetz”. Everybody could try the dishes with a cup of tea and have a nice talk with the others.
Also, all of the guests took part in an entertaining game. Every person got a card with a word and had to explain its meaning without saying the written word, while others tried to guess it. After the game the students felt at ease and continued lively communication.
