On May, 29, the folk-group “Sattuma” gave its anniversary concert in the National theatre of Karelia. It’s not just a folk-group but a family folk-group as its members are fathers and their children. They appeared on the scene in 2003 and perform their songs in Finnish as well as various dialects. The members of the group explain that they sing in Finnish and the languages of the small peoples because they enjoy it and find it appealing. “Sattuma” is a very popular group in Petrozavodsk and it was proved again by the full concert hall in the National theatre. Soon the group releases its fifth album named “JOO KYLLÄ” (“Yes, of course!”). Besides, “Sattuma” has released two DVDs with their concerts recorded.
Among the spectators of the concert were our foreign guests, namely the Finnish students from Petrozavodsk State University. They were really delighted to hear songs in their mother tongue. We are sure that next time “Sattuma” will also gather the full house and our international students will have an opportunity to listen to their music and enjoy their concerts.
