Communicative lesson in the open air

In one of the sunny May days the teachers of Russian and students from Finland, Sweden, Australia, the USA and England have moved the Russian lesson from Uni classrooms into the open air. They have examined Solomennoe region in Petrozavodsk and learned whether the name refers to straw or not (by the way, it doesn’t, the word “Solomennoe” has got Finno-Ugric origin); looked into a pair of wooden pits of different designs, including one with "crane". Then everyone walked along the Botanic garden of PetrSU, admiring plants in blossom; overcame a way uphill, reached a beautiful place called the Devil's Chair (Chertov Stul) where finally organized small picnic. Students and teachers played active games, having studied two: traditional Russian "potato" and cheerful Finnish ball game, talked, joked and even sang in Russian.
