On Saturday, the 3rd, the international students visited the waterfall Kivach. Kivach is probably the most famous waterfall in Russia. It is situated on the Suna River in the Kondopoga District and gives its name to the Kivach Natural Reserve, founded in 1931. A rare tree species, the Karelian birch, grows there. The weather was fine and the students fully enjoyed the wonderful beauty of the reserve’s nature.

On the way to Kivach the group had a stop near the Sampo mountain. It is considered to be the place of power and if you make a wish on the top of the mountain it will come true.
