One month language course for students from the Centre for Russian and Eastern European Studies of the University of Birmingham began on 21st June with an informative excursion around PetrSU and Petrozavodsk, which made a bright impression on the students.
An intensive program awaits the students: daily Russian language lessons; excursions and trips around Karelia; master classes in local arts and crafts; meetings with Russian history and literature specialists, as well as opportunities to meet and get to know the students of our university.

It’s worth noting that this is already the fifth visit to our university made by students from our partner institution. It’s also noteworthy for the fact that the group’s coordinator is Simon Young, a graduate of the University of Birmingham from this year, who undertook a similar language course in Petrozavodsk in 2007.
